Service Port Connection
1. Connect the serial interface cable (optional accessory, order code:
19446ZZ) between the serial port of your PC and the service port
connector on the motherboard.
2. Open a terminal program and set the communication settings (see
the following section for detailed instructions).
3. Power-up the barometer.
Terminal Program Settings
The following instructions show a connection example with
HyperTerminal program (included in the Microsoft Windows).
Follow the instructions below to open a HyperTerminal program:
1. Start HyperTerminal. To get help for starting HyperTerminal, click
"Start", select "Help" to open Windows help, and search for
"HyperTerminal".
2. In the "New Connection"window of the HyperTerminal, define a
name for the barometer serial connection, for example "PTB330".
Click OK.
3. In "Connect using" box, select the PC communications port where
the serial cable is connected. (If your computer has only one COM
port, it is called "COM1"). Click OK.
4. Set the port settings in the "Properties" window to match the
settings of your barometer user port/service port. For the
barometer, "Flow control" must always be set to "None". Finally
click OK to start using the serial connection.
5. Select "File", and then "Save" in the HyperTerminal main window
to save the serial port settings. To use the saved settings later, start
HyperTerminal, click cancel in the "New Connection" window,
and select "File". Then select "Open".
