Accredited Humidity & Temperature Calibration

ACCREDITED HUMIDITY CALIBRATION
The relative humidity calibration is performed at room
temperature using a Thunder Scientific 2500 Two-
Pressure Generator. The calibration uncertainty
typically ranges from ± 0.60 to ±1.1 %RH. A one-
point temperature calibration is performed at ambient.
The calibration procedure used for calibrations is
11603108-CSL Humidity Calibration.
Thunder Scientific 2500 Two-Pressure Generator
saturates a continuous stream of gas with water vapor
at a known pressure and temperature, and passes it
through an expansion valve where it expands to a
lower pressure.
ACCREDITED TEMPERATURE CALIBRATION
The temperature calibration is made using Hart
Scientific liquid bath with a Black Stack reference.
The calibration uncertainty is typically ±0.02 °C. The
calibration procedure used for calibration is 11603135-
CSL Temperature Calibration.
Hart Scientific liquid baths are used as the calibration
method. A Hart Scientific Black Stack/PRT
combination is used as the reference standard.
The
Black Stack uses a high accuracy display module,
model 1560 as the readout indicator. The PRT is
immersed in the liquid of the bath.
CALIBRATION DETAILS
The instrument will be adjusted to comply with its
specifications (if needed) unless no adjustment is
requested. Out of tolerance conditions are determined
by the product specification only. The calibration

uncertainty is not tied in with the instrument's
accuracy. All results are reported in a calibration
certificate, which is written according to the ISO/IEC
17025:2005 standard.
ACCREDITATION
Accreditation is a third party formal recognition that
a laboratory is competent to carry out specific
calibrations.
The American Association for Laboratory
Accreditation (A2LA) has assessed Vaisala’s
Calibration Standards Laboratory (CSL) for humidity
and temperature calibrations. The
accreditation
standard used is ISO/IEC 17025:2005. A2LA
accreditation is recognized by all the major
international accreditation organizations.
